BIRTHDAY!!

Did I mention that it was Patrick's birthday?? YES!! we had a lovely time, Grandma B, Becky, and Larry met us at the campgrounds. Brought all sorts of food, John did most of the cooking. Thank you guys...and thank you for the cake. It was a great time. The whole camping trip was organized by Alicia, the food was FAB...Breakfast this morning could of fed a small army, we are raising a great SCAdian. We had pancakes, sausage, eggs, and grits. I think that was it, we could have fed the whole campground. Thanks Alicia!!

The Maiden Voyage

Oh we have to name it..the tent that is, hmmm it needs a good name.

We went camping this weekend. Celebrated our sons birthday and to our surprise it was also the BIRTH DAY of our neighbors oldest son. CONGRATULATIONS!! another baby in the neighborhood. OK..back to what this is all about. We took our tent, the puppy and ourselves camping to Gulpha Gorge in Hot Springs National Park. We met our son, wife and child there. Had a lovely time but happy to be home in the Air Conditioning. The maiden voyage of our VIKING tent was WONDERFUL! huge, cooler than outside. I loved it, slept well. I think I am going to like this tent. No harder to put up than a commercial tent and no harder taking down but it does take a bit more room in the truck. Very happy with it. Needs a few more tweaks, including a netting for over the bed. Fionna says give me back my house, couch, TV, and AC...lol. It will be a good tent for events.

Enjoy the pictures.

THE BED

Ok the bed is great, but the canvas is not so much. Yes when we find the right canvas and sew it together enough times and then the grommets hold to the fabric all will be well. BUT THE BED...it will be wonderful! Had to add by the way the gremlin under the dresser.

PENNSICS OR BUST

this is really what the title of this weekend should have been. WE are going to Pennsics thanks to some great friends and the family. The plan is getting up enough money in the war chest to hopefully buy helms? well leather?? trim would be nice, but really getting these men in armor is far more important.

Another Day

It was a BEAUTIFUL DAY..if a little warm and a tad humid but no way comparable to yesterday. We did well and had a lovely time. Thank you Alan and Susan for the donuts and coffee this morning.

After staying up past midnight to get our copy of the new Harry Potter book, we got up way to early to unpack and re stack all of the yard sale stuff we nearly sold everything and think left some folks really happy with their finds of treasures.

Thank you Alis and Kate for your help. Alan and Susan for yours as well. Here is a wonderful picture of one of our fearless crew! We really worked hard.!

YARD SALE

IT WAS HOTTER THAN BLAZES. UNTIL!!! it RAINED. Well until it rained the second time it was hotter than hot and HUGELY muggy until the DOWN POUR

It was a great day for a yard sale. Sold lots of stuff for barely anything and make a good amount to go into the WAR FUND! Yes we will be getting leather and trim at Pennsics :-D . I am not sure what the high was today but it WAS HOT! but now it is a nice and cool 80 the weather is drying out and it will be a wonderful day tomorrow for the second day of yard sale. Just as soon as we dry all the fabric and clothing. lol.. Here we are evacuating our wonderful yard sale area that Kenrick worked so very hard on. The stool was stuck in the mud by the way. There is nothing like bonding in the rain :-D or storm or baking in the heat and then getting stuck in the mud. But really it was a lot of fun.

It is UP!

ok the Viking tent is up. It is a bit too big, too long too wide..it is perfect going across the top to the bottom but from the opening to the other opening is too long, and sadly I will have to cut it down and reattach the doors. Better to have it too long than too short. It is also better to do it right than to struggle with it later. BUT!! we are making head way. It will be done soon enough. Next will be the floor! I want to paint!. It has been a great experiment and a great way to work the brain. We will continue to brainstorm and figure out the right way to go about this. But It is tight going down the sides perfect even if I might say so myself. It is going to be a great shelter.

Kenrick is doing a great job in getting our bed together tomorrow there should be pictures. But tonight there is the TENT!! Thank you Lord Alan and Lady Susan for the canvas this has been an awesome challenge for the two of us.

Not so Flattering

OK some of these pictures are not so flattering but this is part of the progress of cutting huge amounts of canvas as well as the mean machine. Ok these are just the doors. well part of the doors we have to put it up then figure out what to cut off.
It is a great machine would go through bone I think...Thank you Jeremy, Katie's brother in law. This is so awesome for the crazies who love to try big things. :-D
